Rostagni 1834 and the Langhe
Rostagni 1834 is nestled among the Barolo vineyards in the heart of Langhe, Italy, surrounded by the peace and beauty of the Langhe countryside. Just minutes from Novello (15 minutes on foot), La Morra, and Barolo, it is conveniently located 15 minutes from Alba and Barolo’s most renowned wine destinations, 45 minutes from Turin, and 1.5 hours from Milan and its airport.
Situated in the Barolo wine region, part of the celebrated UNESCO Langhe landscape, this area is recognized as one of the world’s finest and most diverse wine-producing territories. Its unique geographical position, favorable climate, and rich subsoil create extraordinary biodiversity, shaping the character of these rolling hills and making them a leading destination for Piedmont wine tourism.
Novello lies at the heart of this remarkable region, between the mountains and the sea. What makes this village truly special is its authenticity, deeply rooted in rural traditions and local culture. Peaceful and welcoming, it is not only part of the prestigious Barolo wine area but also the birthplace of Nas-cëtta, an ancient native grape variety rediscovered and revived by local winemakers. Whether you are looking for things to do in Langhe, wine experiences, outdoor activities, or simply wish to visit Langhe, Novello is the perfect place to discover Langhe, Italy at its most authentic.
Die Renovierung
For years, we dedicated ourselves to the renovation with care and patience, working on it personally whenever we had time. We selected materials, built with our own hands, and paid attention to every detail, with the goal of preserving and enhancing the soul of this place. We wanted to respect its history while blending traditional architecture with the contemporary design we love. Today, we share this home with guests seeking a welcoming and peaceful retreat with a strong identity. A place to slow down, listen to stories, reconnect with nature, and experience the authentic rhythm of life in the Langhe.
Nachhaltigkeit
Our approach has always been to honor ancient building techniques while embracing a forward-thinking vision focused on sustainability, natural resources, and material reuse. Starting from a conservative restoration, we designed the project to achieve the perfect balance between comfort and environmental responsibility in every aspect, from services to the smallest details. We maximize the energy generated by our solar panels, while heating and hot water during winter are provided by wood pellets, a renewable and sustainable energy source. Rainwater is collected and reused for garden irrigation, and refillable bottles are provided in the apartments to reduce plastic consumption. Every choice reflects our commitment to a more conscious and sustainable way of living, in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
